THE STORY BEGINS
The first branch of GFS in Gippsland was formed at SALE in 1885, just 10 years after the first branch was by Mrs Mary Elizabeth Townsend in England (1875). This was followed by branches in STRATFORD (1886), Bairnsdale (1887), Maffra & Omeo (1888), Traralgon (1890), Foster & Yarragon (1893), Leongatha (1894) and Jumbunna (1898).
It can be established that over the 130 years branches existed in 30 parishes of the Diocese so one can only imagine just how many girls and young and older women have been part of the GFS Family in that time.
The first Gippsland GFS Council met in 1918 with Mrs Cranswick as the President.
At last our Kids Plus Web site has been connected to Facebook. This is different from the Facebook group sites that we have for leaders and older members. This new link connects directly to the web site where this post is placed. Every time we post information on the web site those who connect through the Facebook Link will receive notification. Hopefully this will increase those who check in on the web site. The facebook link is Kidsplusgippsland.
The 2017 Kids Plus+ Camp was held at the CYC Forest Edge Campsite , Neerim East. Check out their web site for all the wonderful things the campsite had to offer. ( Click the link above)
The camp was held over the weekend of March 24th to 26th. It was a great experience for those that attended and they all left camp saying when is the next one.
Campers and leaders came from the parishes of Drouin, Heyfield, Korumburra, Moe, Traralgon and Warragul.
